Peace Cannot be Kept by Force it can only be Achieved by Understanding
In the world where stress and impatience proliferates, where abrupt social, economic and political conditions prevail there peace becomes insignificant. Despite the fact that “Peace” is a paragon and everyone wishes for it, but only a few discern how to get it, and even rarer really do something to get it. Peace is something which can only be achieved through understanding. The paradigm of “Peace” in today’s world is needed. It is essential from domestic to international level. The fundamental issue of peace has always been crucial in all periods of history and also at all levels from personal to collaborative. The concern of the humankind for peace can be gauged by taking into account the fact that all religions give the lesson of peace. We see all religious scriptures are committed to the cause of peace.
But, do we really know what peace is One fundamental method of defining peace is the absence of war. Where there is no war then obviously peace prevails persistently. But this is a very constricted interpretation. Certainly, an absence of war is the first condition of peace, yet peace is not only an absence of war. It is, in reality, a condition considered by the peaceful way to secure sustainable development of the people. Nowadays there are several hindrances in a way of securing Peace. It has been perceived, at the end of the cold war in the 20th century the world found herself in a new pledge of peace, sustainability, coexistence, peaceful conflict resolution, and cooperation in order to achieve long lasting peace.
The negative trends have drastically changed, people started focusing on the protection of human rights, women rights, equality, national and international integrity. The existence of negative forces started vanishing. Since it became a major aim to get rid of the negative forces. The harsh circumstances and conflicts persistently imminent and are bound to keep coming but they formulate humankind to tackle through collective forces and understanding. Because peace cannot be achieved by force but by understanding and those who understand this phenomenon are successful and those who do not are unsuccessful.
Let us be very clear about this phenomenon. Since we acknowledge, world peace is facing various threats like terrorism, regional imbalance, economic disparity, and social inequality. We assume that peace is omnipresent but what is need to realize is the fact that if we want peace- we have to live peacefully, we have to develop the habit of love, forgiveness, tolerance, justice, and understanding. As actual change must come from within ourselves. We have to start from ourselves because actions speak louder than words.
We all know the world’s problems. We all know the conflicts in this world has been due to misinterpretations, lack of communication and lack of forgiveness. Just consider, by changing ourselves to being more sympathetic, we could do a lot of good. If we could practice forgiveness more often, and forgive the person who has wronged us rather than seek to cause conflict, this would reduce the amount of conflict in the world. But someone has to start and lead by example. Similarly, actions, acceptance, positivity, tolerance are the examples of peace.
We see Pakistan is in developing stage and unsuccessful in many areas. The lack of education, social injustice, lawlessness, political/social violence, rampant corruption, and terrorism are the uppermost glitches. As a result, People have even disremembered what peace is like? The one thing which every community, nation, religion, and tradition possess is Peace. This world desires to the emphasis on the promotion of peace because that is what alters our decisions in the real world. Regrettably, we are enclosed by such hard situation which provokes distress and conflicts rather than peace and harmony. Even, whenever we see on the news about violence, conflicts, quarrels, sufferings, injustice and disputes happening in our society. We ignore, sometimes we express, and we take actions against injustice, criminal activities, and violence. Our actions are the natural phenomena because whatever we say or perceive is steered by our feelings and understanding, it is something that cannot be brought by force but by understanding. Since Understanding is the most important thing we can do on a regular basis but we do not realize its importance. I think if more people realize it, we’d see some major changes to the world at large.
